Surfing is a way of life before it is a sport. This is the ethos that has driven our event over the last two years, and what makes the Greenaway Pro into more than just a surfing competition, it makes it a surfing event.
One fuelled by friends, laughter, stories, sandy skin, food on the beach and late summer sunsets all as a backdrop to the thing that brings us together, the simple act of riding waves. Whether that be stand-up or bodyboard, shortboard or longboard, male or female, young or old everyone is doing the same thing and no-one would want to be doing anything else. That’s what makes our sport unique and that’s what makes this event unique. On top of this, last year the Greenaway pro had one of the largest prize purses in the country and attracted athletes from all corners of the UK and across the world. Despite the money, respect and friendship still rule, and that’s what we’re most proud of and are determined to continue.
